Band of Brothers
A phenomenal show to watch, it’s 11 hours of pure awesomeness and camaraderie. It’s not much longer than your typical work day so no need to call in sick for more than a day to watch this from start to end. If you don’t know by now Band of Brothers follows the exploits of “Easy” Company during World War II from basic training in the U.S., war-time engagements in Europe, to the end of the war. For an added touch of history and a connection with those who fought in Easy Company, interviews are included as a prelude to each episode to bring all of us closer.

The Wire
Bear with me now, you’re going to have to get through the first six episodes before we can really get into the heart of the story and city here. If you’ve never been to Baltimore you’re about to live there for the next 60-hours of your life. Start this one on a Friday night and just binge until Monday morning as you follow the Baltimore police department through the city after the Barkdale family. Each season focuses on a different aspect of the city with it’s own arc so even after the fifth season of the show you’re not going to feel like you wasted a moment of your life.

House of Cards
It’s a Netflix original series so here is the only place to watch this show. Bucking the trend of releasing an episode a week, Netflix will let you watch the whole season in one sitting as soon as they’re released. So yes, you can binge watch House of Cards every season for just one day. For those of you haven’t seen this it’s Kevin Spacey as a politician, you couldn’t ask for more, he’s the personification of a twisted political leader who manages to control or crush those in his wake. If you like him, you’ll love him here. Just make sure next season you give advanced notice that you’ll need the day off.

Arrested Development
4 seasons of schadenfreude is what you’re signing up for here. Like a chick with a fat-ass Fox dropped the show and Netflix was there to retrieve it. Lucky for us we now get to continue watching this dysfunctional family try to get along together and run the family business. You’re going to want to watch this one with a drink in hand to play along though.

Firefly
Don't know whether you’re in the mood for a western or a sci-fi show? Why not both? A whooping one season long, Firefly is like watching a loved one die in a day. It’s painful yes, you want to make the hurt stop, but you just have to remember the good times that you had together and go on knowing that it was better to have had the time together than to have never known this intrepid cast of heroes.

Better Off Ted. Short, but great
Two simple seasons, that’s all we’re going to get here, save this one for when you’ve had a tough week at work trying to make things right in the world. Art mimics life as Ted copes with working in a soulless and heartless corporation that cares not for it’s employees or the consumers that serve it. It’s almost like glimpsing into the lives of the people who work for Comcast, remember we’re all people trying to do our best in the world. It’ll take about a day to watch all of this show so enjoy watching your fellow man grapple with his own morality as his boss is telling him yes but his soul is telling him no.

Breaking Bad
If you missed it on FX when it aired, rejoice, you don’t have to wait months to learn the next steps in how to manufacture, market, and run a successful meth empire. Watch all 5 seasons this weekend to become the next Heisenberg. It’s a two-day cat and mouse game as Walter teaches you how to stay one step ahead of the law, the benefits and draw-backs of being your own boss, and why you shouldn’t mix business and family.

Archer
Our only animated series (sounds better than cartoon doesn’t it?) for our list. We’ve got a drunken-misogynistic-man-child-spy as our main character struggling though the family business run under the thumb of his alcoholic mother and dysfunctional cast. It’s hours of catch-phrases and hilarity, just try not to quote it too often when you get back to work on Monday. The show is still on air as well so once you’ve caught up with the back catalog you can continue to enjoy it on FX.

Scrubs!
The funniest medical drama you will have the opportunity to watch. It will make you laugh most certainly and will catch you up on a decade of culture while it’s at it. You’ll cry as you realize that all good things must come to an end. You’ll live and grow and watch careers blossom and wither over the course of 9 seasons of medical mishap. If you’re into medical dramas and still want some comedy in your life this beats the hell out of the monotonous love-affairs you’ll find in Grey’s Anatomy.

Dexter
Enjoy all four season of this popular vigilante cop drama in as little as two-days. Seasons one through four are awesome, dark, and gritty and you can especially enjoy the last season of Dexter as John Lithgow makes his appearance. Or if you want to become a victim yourself watch the next four seasons and decide for yourself when you think things should have been wrapped up. But believe me, if you make it to the series finale it’ll be like a knife to your own heart.
