There are usually two or more swimming pools and plenty of sunbathing areas on the boat. Although eye candy is appreciated by many, speedos are not. Yes, even you sir.

Please be punctual to dinner and dress accordingly. It holds up the wait staff and the couple celebrating their 25th anniversary will probably not appreciate their chocolate strawberry cake being held up.

Recording your memories for posterity is one thing but there is no reason to carry your video camera into the dining room documenting your food and wait staff. It is just outright annoying and holds up service for other guests.

The cost of drinks are not included. It adds up faster than you think and ends up being 80% of your room bill.

The ship has specific directions for how to exit after the cruise. We all learned basic math in kindergarten, 1 goes before 2. If they do not call your number, please do not try and leave early because it only causes headaches.

Think twice before asking any questions to the cruise staff. The cruise director gets great enjoyment out of announcing ridiculous sounding inquiries. For example, a guest once stayed locked in their room for three days because the "do not disturb" sign was on the inside of their door. I am seriously not making this up.

Food is available all day, and all the buffets are included in the cost. Please do not complain that there are no prunes on the buffet and your whole day is now ruined. This is another true story.

This one is important. Please use sunscreen on the lido or bathing decks. Not only because you might get skin cancer, which is a very important reason, but because you might fall asleep in a chair after a few too many beers and wake up burnt to a crisp. This is a true story.

This applies almost everywhere. Why is it that everyone always seems to have to go through one door when there are four? It boggles the mind how many times we have all gotten stuck in long, unnecessary lines. Be noncorfomative!

While waiting in line in the cruise terminal, please have all necessary documents handy. I cannot tell you how many times I have gotten stuck behind someone in line who does not seem to know how they even arrived where they are. You need a passport, credit card, and cruise documents.
