1
Gaylord Perry
Anybody who would proudly "load one up" and tell the world about it belongs.
2
Jim Palmer
If a guy can be graceful, this guy was. His windup was poetry in motion.
3
Mickey Lolich
You never knew, from one year to the next, what kind of shape Mickey would be in; but man, could he pitch!
4
"Sudden Sam" McDowell
Just because his pitches would be upon you "all of a sudden."
5
Whitey Ford
No bigger than a minute, but when the chips were down in a big game, this was the guy.
6
Warren Spahn
Not only did he win over 360 games, but Warren was no pushover at the plate either. He knocked 35 homers and came dangerously close to the Mendoza Line for a career batting average; no small feat for a hurler. As they said, "Spahn and Sain and a day of rain" was usually enough to take a series.
7
Jim Bouton
He told it like it was.
8
Steve Carlton
Because he was so perfectly aloof to the media.
9
Nolan Ryan
King of Strikeouts and no-hitters
10
Mariano Rivera
Best closer ever.
